Colorado: Colorado Springs: The Broadmoor
Home of the 2011 U.S. Women's Open
Welcome to three of the finest championship golf courses in the world. Regardless of your handicap, you'll find golf at The BROADMOOR challenging and enjoyable, with tee markers of varying lengths on all three courses. Expert professional instruction and one of the best golf school destination in Colorado. Annika Sorenstam won the 1995 U.S. Women's Open at The BROADMOOR. In 2011, the greatest female golfers in the world return to compete for the national championship on the East Course. The BROADMOOR was designed by master golf course architect, Donald Ross, the original BROADMOOR Golf Club opened with the hotel in 1918. In 1958, Robert Trent Jones Sr. was hired to design an additional nine hole course. The redesign formed the famed East Course. In 1964 an additional nine holes was added by Jones forming the West Course. In 2005, the Mountain Course re-opened, renovated and reconfigured by Nicklaus Design.
The BROADMOOR's 700 guest rooms and suites are located in BROADMOOR Main Complex and BROADMOOR West Complex. Luxuriously appointed rooms have either a king bed or two double beds, comfortable furniture and elegant bathrooms. Many offer views of beautiful Cheyenne Mountain and the resort's own Cheyenne Lake. The BROADMOOR "signature" toiletries, hairdryers, multiple telephones and a mini-bar are standard in each guest room.
The Spa at The BROADMOOR is consistently rated one of the premier resort spas in the country. The Spa offers world class spa services, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, and a relaxation room designed to whisk your worries away.
With exquisite decor, treatments and protocols collected from around the world, The Spa follows in the footsteps of resort founders, Spencer and Julie Penrose. They traveled the world over to gather the finest artwork, furnishings, and culinary traditions to make The BROADMOOR an oasis of culture in the then-uncivilized West. Let us provide answers to frequently asked questions about The Spa.
